Prepare PDFs For Printing |
Simply put - properly prepared PDFs are the business. They save us time and you money.
Depending on your setup, you may "print" to a PDF, save as a PDF or use Distiller. Point being that the myriad configurations are too much to list here! So we'll provide some basic guidelines for setting options.
- Embed all fonts.
- If you have a "Press Quality" setting - use it.
- Image quality - maximum.
- Page size should equal finished size plus bleed on all sides. Example; your finished size is 8.5 x 11 and has bleeds, then the page size of your PDF will be 8.75 x 11.25 (.125" of bleed on all sides) with your art centered and without ANY registration or crop marks. We'll then trim .125" off each side.
- Review your PDF prior to sending. Zoom in on the photos a bit - if they look poor they'll probably print poor too.
